Work on sewer could begin as early as December
The Village expects to put the construction of the sewer system out for bid in September once final approval comes from Texas Historical Commission for the proposed final lines and sewer locations.

Retiring sewer debt could add 19¢ to tax rate
Although aldermen have directed City Administrator Kim Foutz to draft the 2016-17 general operating budget with no property tax increase, property taxes will increase dramatically next year due to the increased cost of retiring the debt of $8.8 million sewer bond.

Trailblazer comes to town
The Texas Association of Minority Engineers Trailblazer was overrun with kids on July 23 when it stopped at the Salado Public Library.
The TAME Trailblazer is a 40-foot exhibit trailer that houses a variety of engineering and science exhibits targeted at students in grades 3-8. It is the only interactive science and engineering museum on wheels in Texas. [Read more…] about Trailblazer comes to town

SHS freshmen girls assist in winning softball National Championship in NYC
Three Salado High School Freshman girls, along with Firecracker Head Coach Mark Brown returned to Salado Monday evening after the DFW Firecracker Gold 14U Softball team went undefeated to win the 2016 Triple Crown Sports USA Platinum National Championship in New York City, New York. The game was televised Saturday on ESPN 3.
Piper Randolph, Chris Wilson, and Breigh Oliver competed against teams from New York, New Jersey, South Carolina, Arizona, California and New Hampshire to win the highly coveted National Championship. Coach Brown (Salado) and the three SHS girls will travel to Huntington Beach, California with their team on July 30 to compete in the 2016 Premier Girls Fastpitch (PGF) National Championship: July 31-Aug. 6.
