FORT HOOD, Texas– On the twelfth anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Salado students, along with local law enforcement and fire fighters, will join with troopers from the 3d Cavalry Regiment to honor the sacrifices of so many brave individuals that day by completing a Freedom Walk.
The Freedom Walk will begin at 9:30 in the morning at the Salado Junior High Stadium, as students from town’s grade school, intermediate school, and junior and senior highs observe the posting of the Nation’s colors and then hear from Col. Cameron Cantlon, commander of the Regiment, and Dr. Michael Novotny, Salado’s school superintendent.
Students, first responders, and Cavalry troopers will then exit the stadium and walk a circuit around the schools’ block, ending back at the stadium.
