Our long range facilities planning committee is comprised of 58 community members, parents, and school district employees. 51 of them are voting members and seven of them are non-voting members.

Our school district’s enrollment has increased from 1,348 students to 1,854 students in the last five years. This is an increase of 38% which is the highest percentage increase of all 81 school districts in the Waco region.

January is School Board Recognition Month and Salado ISD is joining other districts across the state to thank these community volunteers for their commitment and contributions to our public schools.

School quality has a significant influence on neighborhood choice and home values.
All seven of our school board members unanimously approved a policy change over a year ago (November 28, 2016) that effective January 1, 2017, we are no longer accepting new transfer students, with the following exceptions: children of employees, siblings of current transfer students, resident students that move out of the district, and children of active duty military and disabled veterans.
Our facilities survey closes this Friday, December 22. If you have not already completed the survey, please go to our facilities committee website at www.sisdfacilitiescommittee.org and click on the “Take the Salado ISD Facilities Survey” link in the middle of the page. All registered voters in our school district are encouraged to take the survey so the feedback best represents our community.
Our facilities planning committee made up of community members, business leaders, Salado ISD staff and parents, has been meeting since September to review current and future facility and equipment needs of Salado ISD. The committee has identified facility needs in the areas of student safety, classroom capacity, athletics, fine arts, agriculture science/FFA, and renovation of aging facilities.

The Salado Independent School District received a rating of “A” for “Superior Achievement” under Texas’ School FIRST financial accountability Rating system. The “Superior Achievement” rating is the state’s highest, demonstrating the quality of our school district’s financial management and reporting system.
