Salado Lady Eagles are alone at the top of District 19-4A and propelled themselves into the Top 15 in 4A softball when they beat the 12th ranked Liberty Hill Lady Panthers 4-3 last week.

Jacob Wilk hit two homers and a single to lead Salado to a shut out win over the Liberty Hill Panthers 8-0 on March 20 in a home game.
Mac Miller doubled with two outs in the first to score Dustin Hawes, who walked, and Wilk, who singled to give Salado an early 2-0 lead.
The Eagles added three runs in the third when Wilk smashed the ball over the left field fence to score Belton Farr, who reached on an error and Ryan Oakes, who walked.
Farr hit a booming triple to right field to score Dustin Heath, who reached on an error in the third for Salado to go up 6-0.
Hawes reached on a walk in the seventh before Wilk put the ball over the right field fence to bring the score to 8-0.
Oaks got the win on the mound, pitching three innings. He allowed two hits and struck out five batters.
Drew Dobbins pitched in relief, striking out four batters, walking three and allowing a hit.
Wilk closed the game striking out all three batters he faced.
Salado Versus Liberty Hill
Salado Eagles beat the Taylor Ducks 3-1 March 26 and are now alone in first place in District 19-4A.
Salado Varsity Boys Track team placed fourth with 91 points in the Cougar HS Relays hosted by Jarrell March 22.
Salado Varsity Girls Track team won the Cougar HS Relay hosted by Jarrell March 22 with 127 points. Thrall placed second with 86 points.
Salado crushed the Burnet Bulldogs 19-0 in a mercy-rule shortened five innings on March 16.
Salado Varsity Girls Track team won the Salado High School Invitational March 8 with 153.5 points. Academy placed second with 108 points.
Drew Dobbins threw his second no-hitter of the season, leading Salado to an 8-0 win over the Leander Glenn Grizzlies March 13.
Salado Eagles took second place among a field of 32 teams in the Sixth Annual Franklin Ranch Baseball Invitational tournament.
