Almost a decade since Salado won a playoff game The last time the Salado Eagles got to the Area round of the football playoffs, they gave former head coach Jeff Cheatham a near-perfect 13-1 record, eventually losing in the State Semi-finals to Tatum.
Salado Eagles will host the Lorena Leopards, both of which are tied for first place in District 9-4A with Robinson, at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 14.

Friday night, the Eagles played their first home game of the year, beating the Hyde Park Panthers 28-9. Before the game, all of the Eagles players were introduced along with their families. At halftime, the Salado Eagles Marching Band performed.
