Salado Lady Eagles gave up two runs late in the game of both of their losses to the Sweeny Lady Bulldogs, ending their season in the Area playoff May 6-7.
Salado Lady Eagles survived what can only be described as a pitchers’ duel between Meagan Hill and Navarro’s Cayli Cowan, winning 1-0 in the eighth inning of their bi-district playoff game on April 27.
Salado Lady Eagles lost the coin toss to determine the third and fourth place seeds for District 25-4A and face Geronimo-Navarro, the first place team from District 26-4A, in the bi-district round of the playoffs on April 27.

Salado Lady Eagles are going to the softball playoffs as either the third or fourth place team from District 25-4A. The girls lost to first-place Burnet last night 5-1 at Liberty Hill, a game that was rescheduled due to rains early this week.
Meagan Hill pitched a no-hitter and only three Taylor Lady Ducks reached base as the Salado Lady Eagles cruised to a 10-0 Mercy Rule win at home April 8.
Jenna Calder’s walk-off single to right lifted the Salado Lady Eagles over the Lampasas Lady Badgers 9-8 in the bottom of the 11th inning April 12.
Salado Lady Eagles struggled at the plate against dominating pitcher Makenzie Carpenter on April 2, losing 1-0 to the Burnet Lady Bulldogs.

Franklin Tourney Champions
Salado Eagles are the Franklin Softball Tournament Champs having won six of their six games last week. Salado Lady Eagles swept six opponents to win the Franklin softball tournament March 4-5, beating Caldwell 7-6 in the championship game. The girls beat three teams to earn the second-place seed in the Gold Bracket of the tournament and then beat Cameron, White Oak and Caldwell.

A two-run homer by Meagan Hill in the seventh gave Salado the final edge of 7-6 in the championship game of the Franklin Tournament March 5.
