We put the following questions before the candidates for Salado ISD Board of Trustees. Below are their answers:

Question 1: Other than facilities and growth, what is the most critical issue facing the school district? How is the district handling this issue? Is there anything the school district can do better?   (200 words)

Question 2: What is the greatest strength about Salado ISD schools? What is its greatest weakness? What can be done to improve the weakness without sacrificing the strength? (200 words)

Question 1. Is Salado ISD preparing adequately for the potential growth in enrollment of the next five to 10 years? Is there anything it should be doing differently? (Limit 150 words)

Question 2. How would you rate the condition (Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor) of each of these facilities: Elementary, Intermediate, Junior High, High School, Athletic Facilities, Arts Facilities, Ag Facilities. What needs to be done? (Limit 150 words)

Meet the Salado I.S.D. School Board Candidates

Four candidates have filed for two three-year terms on the Salado I.S.D. Board of Trustees: Brad Bolick, Melanie Kirchmeier, Michael Matthews and Chris Seaton. As of presstime, Matthews announced that he is withdrawing from the race. While his name will appear on the ballot, he asks voters to only consider the other three candidates.

This week, Salado Village Voice gave each of the candidates an opportunity to introduce themselves to the voters. Those introductions appear below:

Early voting turnout is low in Salado elections

Early voting has begun in the Salado ISD Board of Trustees and the Village of Salado Board of Aldermen races.

Early voting in the Salado ISD Board of Trustees and Village of Salado Board of Aldermen election began April 27 at the Salado Civic Center.
