October 31, 2025 by Tim Fleischer

The Salado boys cross country team delivered a standout performance on Sept. 11 at their home meet hosted at Tenroc Ranch. With strong competition across multiple divisions, the Eagles rose to the occasion, highlighted by the Varsity Boys capturing the championship in the 5A/6A race.

The varsity squad set the pace early and never looked back. Sophomore Seth Anderson crossed the finish line first overall with a blazing time of 15:38, followed closely by teammate Coulson Boyd in 15:53. The Eagles packed their runners tightly, with Daniel Anderson (8th, 16:38) and Cash Drigalla (14th, 17:00) adding crucial low points. Depth carried Salado as Brody DeLukie (25th, 17:38), Jackson Camp (32nd, 17:46), Lane Johnson (43rd, 18:00), and Eli Barker (45th, 18:06) rounded out the varsity lineup.
The dominant front-running effort secured first place overall in the 5A/6A division.
In a show of grit, the Salado junior varsity squad stepped up to compete in the varsity 1A–4A race, ultimately finishing 8th as a team. Leading the way were Easton Bullock (37th, 18:20) and Robert Alcozer (38th, 18:20), who crossed the line side by side. They were followed by Samuel Hightower (47th, 18:53), John Goode (72nd, 19:51), and Jackson Kilpatrick (81st, 20:05), all of whom battled through a competitive field. Closing out the lineup, John Mark Gearhart (98th, 20:47), Calvin Adinaro (133rd, 24:59), and Camden Herrmann (139th, 26:26) showcased Salado’s depth and determination.
