Michael Lynn Tollefson of Katy, Texas and son of Walt and Karen Tollefson of Salado, passed away on December 21, 2019 as the result of complications from diabettes and a stroke. He was 47.

He was born in Hamilton, Texas on March 8, 1971.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Belton.  Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to service.  Burial to follow services Salado Cemetery.

Col. (Ret.) Jean D. Tarbutton USAF age 99, of Salado, Texas passed away on Saturday November 23, 2019. was born in San Antonio, Texas, on October 27, 1920, to James Wilford and Gladys DuPuy Tarbutton. He attended public schools in Palestine, Lufkin, Houston, and Brenham, Texas. He graduated from Brenham High School in 1937. At the college level, he attended the Allen Military Academy, Texas A&M University, the University of Maryland, and the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. He was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in general studies and a Bachelor of Science degree in education.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2019 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Waco with Mr. Joe Keyes officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Monday, November 25, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.  There will also be a memorial service at Eastside Church of Christ at 10 a.m. December 14, 2019 in Marlin.

Betty Jean Schoepf, 88, of Belton, Tx, passed away peacefully at West View Manor Nursing Home in McGregor, Tx, on Nov. 14, 2019.

Private graveside services will be held Nov. 23 at 11:00 AM at the Salado Cemetery, with Minister Andy Davis of First Baptist Church of Belton officiating.   After the graveside service, there will be a Celebration of Life for family and close friends at 12:00 noon at Schoepf’s Old Time Pit Barbeque.
