Lady Eagles come from behind to earn spot in state volleyball tournament
Salado Lady Eagles are heading to the UIL 4A Volleyball State Tournament after overcoming a 2-0 deficit to the 40-6 Spring Hill Lady Panthers to win the Region III crown.
Two of their five sets went for extra points, but Salado completely dominated the final two sets for the win.

Salado Lady Eagles survived a five-set match against Gateway College Prep Nov. 7 at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and will face Huffman Hargrave in the Region Semi-Finals 6 p.m. Nov. 10 at Bryan High School.

Salado Lady Eagles will face Gateway College Prepratory School in the Region Quarterfinals 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at University of Mary Hardin Baylor Arena after they beat Taylor in four sets in the Area round on Nov. 2.
A win here will launch the Lady Eagles to the Regional Tournament for the second straight year.
Salado lost to Huffman Hargrave last year in the Region Semi-final. Hargrave lost in the state semi-finals to state champion Canyon Randall.

Salado Lady Eagles are 9-0 in District 23-4A and will face either Lago Vista or Jarrell in the bi-district round of the UIL 4A playoffs.
The Lady Eagles played China Spring in the final round of district in a match played after press time for this week’s edition.

Salado Lady Eagles fell in four sets to the Hargrave Lady Falcons in the 4A Region III semi-finals tonight, 25-20, 13-25, 25-19, 25-23 despite leading 17-16 and 22-18 in the third and fourth sets respectively.

Lady Eagles heading to Region tournament
Salado Lady Eagles are going to the Region III Volleyball tournament, where they will face Hargrave in the first match at 6 p.m. Nov. 11 at Bryan High School.
Hargrave is 30-13 on the year and winner in District 20-4A, in which they went 9-1. Salado went 9-1 to win District 23-4A and is 32-15 on the year.
If Salado wins the match against Hargrave, they will face the winner of Lago Vista and Spring Hill in the finals at 2 p.m. Nov. 12 at Bryan High School. Spring Hill (33-8, 11-1) won District 17-4A and Lago Vista (23-23, 6-4) is the third place team in District 24-4A.
Salado beat the #9-ranked Burnet Lady Bulldogs on Nov. 8 in four sets at Copperas Cove High School, 21-25, 25-17, 25-22 and 25-19 to launch themselves into the Regional tournament.

Senior Katey Bartek served an ace for the final point in the Salado Lady Eagles’ four-set win over the Lampasas Badgers in the Bi-District match Nov. 1, 25-19, 27-25, 25-15 and 25-13.
