Lampasas quarterback Bryson Roberts hit Kaden McElwain for a 75-yard touchdown a minute into their home game against Salado. The Badgers would go on to win 43-12 Sept. 5 to improve to 2-0 and set Salado back to 1-1.

The Badgers added a 36-yard field goal with 36 seconds left in the first to go up 10-0
Lampasas scored again on a 9-yard pass from Roberts to Kayden Vanpelt with 8:10 left in the first. Gabe Merriman picked up the blocked point after kick and returned it to the end zone to put two points on the board for the Eagles to trail 16-2.
Lampasas went up on a one yard dive by Roberts with 38 seconds left in the half. The PAT kick failed.
Landen Owens, in for injured senior quarterback Devonte Foster, led the Eagles on the field with short passes to Landen Noske, before hitting him for 25 yards to set up a Max Gist 32-yard field goal with two seconds on the clock.
The Badgers recovered the second half onsides kick and scored four plays later on a 20 yard run by Wesley Stephens. The PAT kick made the score 29-5.
The Eagles answered with a 70 yard drive, capped by a 28-yard run by Damonte Foster with 7:49 left in the third, Gist made it 29-12 with his kick.
Lampasas answered with a 70 yard drive. Stephens scored on a 6 yard run with 4:50 left in the third.
The Badgers added one more on the first play of the fourth quarter, a 12 yard jaunt by Stephens and successful kick for a 43-12 win.
Owens threw 8-of-18 for 135 yards and 2 interceptions. Brayden Dildine caught two passes for 49 yards; Landen Noske, three for 34 yards, Merriman, two for 39 and Andrew Benavides, one for 3 yards.
Luke Bingham had 18 carries for 77 yards. Damonte Foster, one carry for a 30 yard TD; Benavides, three for nine yards.
Damonte Foster led the Eagles with 19 tackles, followed by Cade Fenoglio, Luke Bauser and Ethan Robledo, eight each; Hays Ramsey, six, Owen Gunter, five, Miller Gallia and Zack Adcox, four each, Michael Edmondson, two and Mason Olson, Landen Noske, Hudson Oglesby, Robert Campbell, Tyson White, Owen Piatt, Max Gist, Angel Soto,, Jeff Bradley, Gavin Marcotte and Hudson Slimp, one each. Olson and Ramsey each had an interception. Fenoglio had a sack. Gist had a pass defense.
The Eagles host the 1-1 Giddings Buffaloes at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12.
