Ralph Omer Powell, age 90, passed away at his home in Belton surrounded by his family on September 26, 2014.

 

A graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. September 27, 2014 at Live Oark Cemetary in Youngsport with Chaplain Bruce Mercer officiating. The brothers of Salado Masonic Lodge #296 will conduct a Masonic burial service at that time.

Ralph Omer Powell was born in Marble Falls, Texas to Joe and Iva Powell on May 9, 1924.

He graduated from Marble Falls High School.

He was a veteran of World War II, fighting against the Japanese in the Pacific Theater.

He and Marcelle Adams were married in Shreveport, Louisiana on March 16, 1946.

Powell was a self-employed entrepreneur in the Marble Falls and Killeen areas and loved raising longhorn cattle.

He was made a Master Mason in Blazing Star Lodge #413 on March 20, 1948. He joined Killeen Masonic Lodge #1125 in 1964 and joined Salado Masonic Lodge #296 in 1992 after the Powells moved to Mill Creek. He was honored by the Grand Lodge of Texas with the 64-year award in 2013.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Billy Powell.

He is survived by daughter Karen Tollefson and her husband Walt and son Michael R. Powell and his wife Judy. 

He is also survived by his grandchildren Regina Powell, Lynn Tollefson, Robin Sadler, Michael-Ann Powell, Alysa Joe Tollefson, Jack Marshall and Kenny Marshall.

Ralph is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
