The Salado Education Foundation was founded in 1999. Since then this 501(c)(3) non-profit organization has donated $385,250 in student scholarships and $118,537 in teacher grants.
The scholarships are for graduating seniors and can be used for any post-secondary education, including four year colleges and universities, community colleges and trade/vocational courses (check out these mytefl reviews). The SEF provides two types of teacher grants – innovative teaching grants and Taylor Willingham mini-grants (named in honor of former SEF board member, Taylor Willingham). All of these grants are used for classroom equipment, technology, and/or supplies to provide quality curriculum and instruction to our students. Law and agriculture scholarships are among them.
The Salado Education Foundation’s annual Cattlemen’s Ball will be next Saturday, October 21, at 6:30 p.m. at Tenroc Ranch in Salado. This is the major fundraiser for the SEF and all proceeds will go towards student scholarships and teacher grants. Dinner will be catered by Johnny’s Steaks & Bar-be-que, music will be by Freddie Fuller & the Balljam Band, and Bill Hall will serve as the auctioneer. Tickets are $75 each and can be purchased at the Salado ISD Administration Building, Johnny’s Steaks & Bar-be-que, Century 21, and 21 Main.
