The news gets better each week!
Last Monday, the evening tour of I-35 Salado Construction demonstrated that the project remains on schedule for completion early October. Work continues on Northbound I-35 lanes, Salado Plaza Bridge east wall, and exit/entrance ramps.
Tuesday, Billy Helm said in two-weeks plans are to begin the cleaning of the low water crossing Salado Creek as water level will be lowest and weather, favorable. The Creek-cleaning is in experienced hands from doing it in the past. Mr. Helm, owner of Lone Star Excavation, also owns the beautiful Mill Creek Golf Course which crosses Salado Creek several times. He and his Board are making Mill Creek Golf Course one of the premier golf courses in Texas.
Wednesday evening, the Executive Chamber of Commerce Committee met to discuss budget and future events and plans. With energy and enthusiasm building, Chamber focus will be intensified to attract new visitors, implement new events, improve business, and build strong community relationships.
Thursday evening, the Board of Aldermen heard Clark Lyda, Stagecoach 1943, LP Group, discuss the refurbishing plans for Stagecoach Inn. The Restaurant will be completed by Christmas. The pictures depicted a beautiful restaurant done in the historic tradition of Stagecoach Inn. The BOA unanimously approved the Stagecoach Inn contract and signing.
Thursday, Rick Kasberg, a village engineer from Hagstrom Drilling, presented the schedule for Sewer and Water Treatment construction/completion: last two permits expected soon; construction beginning in October with boring under I-35 connecting East-West Salado; and Main Street “pipe-in-ground” scheduled for January so as not to disturb the Thanksgiving/Christmas season.
Also, BOA heard soon-to-be Eagle Scout, Ian Deacon, announce Eagle Scout project completion placing identification markers on 30- Salado fire plugs making it easier to locate specific plugs. Ian will also presented a project contribution to the Salado Fire Department.
