Robert Sulaski will give aldermen an update on Sanctuary development at their 6:30 p.m. Sept. 6 meeting at the Salado municipal building.
While the Village of Salado will be ready to provide sewer service to the property by January 2019, no work has been done on the Sanctuary development of commercial, hotel, entertainment, multi-family and single family construction, other than the demolition of the Wildfire Arena.

Aldermen will hear a presentation from Dirk Aaron with the Clearwater Underground Water Conservation District on Sept. 6 concerning a proposed 250,000 gallon per day wastewater treatment plant to be built south of Salado.
The Village may join State Representative Scott Cosper in requesting a public hearing on the proposed treatment plant. It may also add its comments to those that have already been submitted regarding the discharge location for the plant.

For the first day of school in Salado, 1,923 were enrolled, compared to 1,832 enrollment for the first-day enrollment in 2017.

MCCC, LLC withdrew on Friday, August 10 from negotiating with the Village of Salado for the possible purchase of the Mill Creek Golf Course, following a two-and-a-half hour town hall style meeting the night before during which VIllage Administrator Don Ferguson announced that the Village was pursuing re-zoning the golf course.

The Village of Salado will receive $46,037.07 for its August sales tax rebate check when Comptroller Glenn Hegar sends out the rebate checks this week. This is an increase of 11.44% compared to the $41,308.88 paid last Aug.
For the year, Salado is running 12.52% ahead. In 2018, the Village has received $320,462.19. Through August 2017, the Village received $284,793.92 in sales tax rebate checks.
Salado Public Library District is also running almost 10 percent ahead of last year. The Library will receive $34,039.73 check, compared to $31,029.08 last August. For the year, the Library District has received $242,826.72, which is 10.29 percent more than the $220,159.90 paid through August 2017.
