Tablerock Festival will host its 16th Annual Poetry Festival April 27.

This year in 2024, Tablerock Festival will once again release a Poetry Anthology (edited by Bijan Rahnamai and Thom the Poet). The theme for the Festival and Anthology is on Animal Rescue. 

This year the festival will also offer free workshops for all ages. Australian Bob Mud (aka Robert McMahon) will reveal the secrets of bottle flutes, clay creations and bamboo flutes. He will also extend your notion of what a didjeridoo can do.

Sandi Horton and Christina Culverhouse will include you in a participatory workshop of making Mandalas and wire wraps. Workshops start at noon and continue all day(until 8pm).

“The Tablerock Poetry Festival is joyful event that was started by Jackie and Denver Mills, and we will honor both of them in memory at the Festival, Thom Wilson said.

Poetry Festival will run continuously from noon to 9 p.m.  at Tablerock Goodnight Amphitheater located on Royal St Salado Texas. 

Entry is by donation. Copies of the Anthology will be on sale at the Admission Gate for $10 per book. Remember this is also a benefit for the operational needs of Tablerock Theater itself, and all donations are welcomed.

  The program (hosted by Sandi Horton and Thom the World Poet) begins at 2-6 p.m. Anthology readers get five minutes to read their published poem and one other. There will be an open event where attendees are offered an opportunity to read in the open section. In the evening, there will be a program that will use poetry and music in their performance (on Animal Rescue theme).

• Sandi Horton, Native American Wood Flute Artist and Poet from Waco Texas (host of Waco Wordfest)

•  Trevor Wainwright, International Poet from Castleford England

• Bijan Rahnamai, Persian Poet of Love from Austin Texas
