Friends of the Salado Public Library will conduct its second literary fundraiser on May 5, hosted by Rick and Denise Thomssen at the Chapel at Caliber Oak in Salado. “Prose and Spirits with Jane Austen” will begin at 4 p.m., with local talent appearing as Jane Austen characters. 

Performers include K.D. Hill as Jane Austen, Jim Buchanan as Mr. Bennett, Becky Michele Hupert as Mrs. Bennett, Josh Kuntz as Mr. Darcy and Rachel Poe as Elizabeth Bennett. The afternoon will include cocktails, tea and Regency-era fare. Those attending are encouraged to wear Regency-inspired apparel; costumes are encouraged but optional.
