Memorial services for Roy Wayne “Bo” Jackson, 81, of Salado were held May 30, 2015, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel in Belton with Rev. Kenneth James officiating.
College ruins were preservation crisis for Salado
“It was the biggest preservation crisis the town had or may ever have to face,” Dr. Douglas B. Willingham said.
For decades since the 1924 fire which finally did in the two-story limestone building, the old Salado College fell into ruin and neglect.

The Casey Donahew Band will perform at Johnny’s Outback May 30. Tickets for the concert are available at Johnny’s Steaks and BBQ or online at johnnysoutback.com. Advanced general admission is $15. At the gate, tickets are $20.

TXDOT PIO: Northbound access road will be made two-way from FM 2268 to Thomas Arnold later today
According to TXDOT, the southbound access road (west side of interstate) in Salado south of Thomas Arnold Road is closed until the construction of the new access road and access road bridge over Salado Creek.
Jasper Herman Barrett
Jasper Herman Barrett, formerly of Salado and who lived in Waco, Texas for the last 12 years, passed away on May 22, 2015 at the age of 93.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. May 28 at the Wilkirson-Hatch Bailey Funeral Home in Waco.
A graveside service will be held at the Salado Cemetery in Salado, Texas at 11 a.m. May 30 with Gayle Crowe officiating.
