Salado varsity girls 4X100 Meter Relay team led the pack at the Area Track Meet April 21 at Liberty Hill, winning the race with a time of 50.25 and earning a berth in the Regional Meet this week at A&M Kingsville.
Salado’s 400 Meter Relay team of Sugar Hill, Katie Robinson, Abby Quick and Sara Kate Kelarek placed first with a time of 50.25.
Other girls qualifying for the Regional Meet are hurdlers Sara Kate Kelarek, who placed third in the 300 meter Hurdles with a time of 48.44 and Macy Thrasher, who placed fourth with a time of 48.60.
Brittany Vrooman placed third in the Discus with a throw of 110-11 to qualify for the Regional Meet.
Katie Robinson placed fourth in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 1:01.35.
Also placing in the top six at the Area Meet were Abby Quick, who placed fifth in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 26.34 and Mariah VaillanCourt, who placed fifth in the Triple Jump with a total distance of 35-01.25.
Two varsity boys placed in the top six at the Area track meet.
Preston Kimbrough placed fifth in the 3200 Meter Run with a time of 10:15.90.
Holden Ford placed sixth in the 110 Meter Hurdles with a time of 15.76.
