Salado Fire Department report March 7 to 11

March 7

1:02-1:51 p.m., 1600 Block Old Mill Rd. Out to patient with heart problems. Arrived on scene to find 75 year old female patient sitting on edge of bed. Patient stated she had upset stomach and did not feel well. Obtained and charted initial vital signs. Obtained patient history. Scott & White arrived on scene. Provided patient report and stood by while Scott & White performed more detail cardiac assessment. Patient decided on no transport. Documentation signed with Scott & White. 2 units, 2 personnel.

3:57-4:19 p.m., 2000 Block The Creeks Dr. Arrived on scene to find the patient sitting on the couch. Patient was assessed and vitals were taken and charted. Patient history was taken and charted. Patient was monitored until Scott & White Medic arrived on scene and took over patient care. Patient was placed on stretcher and moved into the ambulance. Scott & White transported patient. 2 units, 3 personnel.

5:37-6:04 p.m., FM 2484 and Crows Ranch Rd. Dispatched to a car fire. Arrived on scene to find patient up walking around Patient states he did not call EMS but the fire dept. to put out a fire he had. Patient refused any treatment. Scott & White EMS was advised of that and they stated they were going to cancel. Got patient refusal and extinguished fire. Once fire was out no need for FD or EMS and all units cleared. 4 units, 8 personnel.

9:45-10:25 a.m., 282 NB I-35/280 NB. Out to an Motor Vehicle Accident, unknown injuries. Arrived on scene to find Scott & White already on scene and advised no injuries. BC Constable also on scene with patients. 3 units, 6 personnel.

9:56 p.m.- 12:09 a.m., 1200 Block Mackie Dr. Arrived on scene to find male patient laying on floor face down. Rolled patient over and started CPR. Other responding units arrived on scene and assisted by moving patient. Continued CPR until told to stop by Scott & White Medic due to having produced DNR by family member. BCSO took over scene and patient pronounced by JP and Med control. 5 units, 7 personnel.

12:37-12:54 a.m., FM 2484 and Fm 1670. Out to a Motor Vehicle Accident unknown injuries. Arrived on scene to find car driving down the road with major front end damage and a section of guardrail taken out. Followed car until SPD and DPS arrived on scene and got car stopped. Scott & White Medic arrived on scene and got a no transport on patient. DPS transported patient. 2 units, 3 personnel.

March 9

12:52-1:51 p.m., 286 NB I-35. Arrived on scene to find a single cab wrecker truck motor compartment fully involved. Extinguished the fire. Once fire was out and no other dangers, all units cleared. 4 units, 5 personnel.

11:32-11:56 a.m., 284 NB I-35. Motor Vehicle Accident, unknown injuries. Arrived on scene with Salado Police Department and found 1 vehicle with moderate damage. Vehicle had a total of 4 patients. Scot & White arrived on scene and got no transports on all patients. Salado Police Department remained on scene and no further assist needed.

11:40 a.m.- 1:07 p.m., 7500 Block Solana Ranch Rd. Power lines down on road. Arrived on scene to find pole, appeared that pole had been struck by vehicle. Pole was across the road. Stood by until utility company could arrive on scene. 2 units, 2 personnel.

11:48-3:25 p.m., 285 SB IH-35. Arrived on scene to find 3 vehicle, two with major damage. Set up command. All patient’s were out of vehicle walking around. Checked for any major injuries. SVFD 326 had patient care of all patients’ in vehicle 2. SVFD 303 had patient care of patient in vehicle 1, the driver of 18 wheeler. Complaints of right and left leg pain. Scott & White Medic arrived on scene and took over patient care and transported. Notified Com Center to dispatch Grones for fuel and oil spill. IH-35 SB was closed until all vehicles were removed and clean up crew cleaned roadway. No fire danger was determined on all vehicles. Notified James Construction of barrier damage. All units cleared.

11:01 p.m.- 3:15 a.m., 284 NB and SB I-35. Out for a Motor Vehicle Accident involving an 18-wheeler. Arrived on scene to find an 18 wheeler with major front end damage and Scott & White arrived on scene and patient out walking around. Truck had struck several sections of wall and full SB lane closed and 1-lane NB due to barriers in roadway. Contacted Grones, and PSC to have them en route. Got a no transport on patient and cleared. Remained on scene with traffic control and scene safety until all roadway’s were clear, once cleared all units cleared. 3 units, 5 personnel.

March 10

8:58-9:43 a.m., 1600 Block Old Mill Rd. Arrived on scene to find 75 year old female complaint of muscle spasm to right shoulder area. Patient denied any Cardiac issues. Performed initial assessment and obtained and charted vital signs. Patient transported. 1 unit, 2 personnel.

3:43-4:25 p.m., 286 NB I-35. Dispatched to a 4 vehicle Motor Vehicle Collision. Patient was a driver, states he was driving when his back started to hurt. He took his seatbelt off and then hit a wall and then hit another car. He had no loc, no chest pain, no other trauma noted. Scott & White transported patient, and got 3 no transports on other patients. BC Constable and SVFD had traffic control. 4 units, 9 personnel.

March 11

10:15-10:34 a.m., 284 SB. Out to a Motor Vehicle Accident unknown injuries. Arrived on scene to find 1 vehicle facing the wrong way at the 285 SB. DPS arrived on scene and checked for injuries, no injuries. DPS took over scene and vehicles still drivable, all vehicles were moved off highway to get it back opened. 3 units, 3 personnel.

10:44 a.m.- 12:34 p.m., 284 NB I-35. Out to a Motor Vehicle Accident involving, 2 18-wheelers. Arrived on scene to find the NB lanes of I-35 closed at the 284. One 18-wheeler with major front end damage and 1 with rear end axle bent. Set up scene safety and checked for injuries. Found no injuries, a total of 2 patients walking around. Checked trucks for leaks, found nothing. Remained on scene until roadway was cleared. 3 units, 6 personnel.

12:59-1:11 p.m., 11200 Block Irene Lane. Out for a male patient tazed by PD. Arrived on scene to find the patient in police custody. Cleaned area above left eye to find small laceration. PD advised that bleeding had stopped and there was no need for transport by EMS> Canceled Scott & White. Patient transported by BCSO. All units cleared. 2 units, 4 personnel.

1:41-3:10 p.m., 285 NB I-35. Out to a Motor Vehicle Accident unknown injuries. Arrived on scene to find a 3 vehicle accident blocking one lane of I-35 at the 285 NB. Set up scene safety and traffic control and checked for injuries.  3 units, 5 personnel.

5:05-5:22 p.m., Elm Grove Rd. and Shady Ln. Out to Elm Grove Rd. and Shady Loop for a MVA. Arrived on scene to find one vehicle slid off roadway but was back parked on road with minor damage. Patient refused EMS FD canceled Scott & White. 2 units, 5 personnel.

11:15 p.m.- 12:13 a.m., 279 SB. Out to a traffic accident at the 279 SB. Arrived on scene to find 1 vehicle with major damage in the ditch. Vehicle had spun out and hit a light pole. Scott & White medic on scene with patient care. Set up scene safety and traffic control and closed one lane of I-35. Assisted patients with unloading bags out of the truck of the car. No transports on all 5 patients. Once vehicle was removed and Scott & White cleared all units cleared and highway was opened back up. 2 units, 5 personnel.
