Funeral services for R.L. Copeland, 81, of Salado will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at the 3C Cowboy Fellowship in Salado. Burial will follow at Salado Cemetery.
Mr. Copeland passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016, at his home.

Salado Eagles lose 2-3 to Wylie in State Finals
The 4A state baseball championship last night came down to a matter of inches, or perhaps even a fraction thereof.

Eagles beat Robinson, play Wylie in State Final today
Salado Eagles face the top-ranked Abilene Wylie Bulldogs for the state championship at 6:30 p.m. today at Disch Falk field in Austin, after beating the #4 Robinson Rockets 7-1 yesterday in the semi-finals.
Wylie beat the #5 Texarcana Pleasant Grove Hawks 7-5 yesterday to get to the finals.

Salado Seniors earn Scholarships
More than $1.6 million in scholarships have been awarded to Salado high school seniors. During the Senior Academic Awards ceremony on May 31, 28 different scholarships were presented to more than 55 recipients.
Eagles face #3 Sweeny in Region Finals
Salado Eagles face the #3 Sweeny Bulldogs in the Region IV finals, playing a best of three series this week.
Game one begins at 7 p.m. June 1 at Mumford High School. Games two and three (if necessary) will also be played at Mumford High School. Game two will start at 5 p.m. June 3 and game three will start 30 minutes after the end of game two, if it is necessary to be played.
Eagles sweep Sinton in Region Semifinals
Sinton shortstop Jordan Martinez’s error on a grounder by Garrett Lightfoot with runners at first and second allow Jake Harvey to score the walk-off run in the seventh inning of Salado’s second game with the Pirates May 28, winning 5-4.
