Bobbie Bennett
Services for Bobbie Bennett, 92, of Salado, Texas will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday March 12, at the First Baptist Church in Salado. Burial will be in Salado Cemetery immediately following the service.
Bobbie Bennett died Saturday, March 5, 2016 in a convalescent home in Spring, Texas.
She was born in Tahoka, Texas to Willie and Laura Bowen and grew up near Coleman, Texas. She married Eugene W. Bennett on Feb. 10, 1946. Bobbie Bennett graduated from Central Texas College in the early 70’s and received a degree in nursing. While living in Llano, she worked as a RN at the Llano hospital and after moving to Salado she worked in the VA hospital in Temple, Texas.
After retiring she remained in Salado until 2010. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Salado and a member of Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She and Eugene worked together with Texas Baptist Retired Builders for a number of years while residing in Salado.
Survivors include one daughter, Sue Jean Bennett of Goldthwaite, three sons, David Bennett of Goldthwaite, Clayton Bennett of Galveston and Wayne Bennett of Magnolia. She had seven grandchildren, Shannon Bennett, Jeremy Bennett, Hillary Butella, Justin Bennett, Michelle Martinez, Jenny Patrick, Sara Bennett and eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. in the gathering room at the First Baptist Church with light lunch food being served.
Services are in the care of Broecker Funeral Home, Salado.
