The Texas Association of Minority Engineers Trailblazer was overrun with kids on July 23 when it stopped at the Salado Public Library.

Three Salado High School Freshman girls, along with Firecracker Head Coach Mark Brown returned to Salado Monday evening after the DFW Firecracker Gold 14U Softball team went undefeated to win the 2016 Triple Crown Sports USA Platinum National Championship in New York City, New York. The game was televised Saturday on ESPN 3.
Piper Randolph, Chris Wilson, and Breigh Oliver competed against teams from New York, New Jersey, South Carolina, Arizona, California and New Hampshire to win the highly coveted National Championship. Coach Brown (Salado) and the three SHS girls will travel to Huntington Beach, California with their team on July 30 to compete in the 2016 Premier Girls Fastpitch (PGF) National Championship: July 31-Aug. 6. The Central Texas College (CTC) Continuing Education department’s College for Kids program continues in August. Registration is open now for a variety of fun and hands-on learning classes directed to youngsters three years to high school-age in subjects such as science, computers, arts and crafts, life skills, languages and more.
