Free sealants for children offered Feb. 2
The Jean and Ralph Wilson Dental Hygiene Clinic will again be the site of the annual “Sealants Across Texas” project of the Central Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association.
The event will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday Feb. 2 in the clinic located in the Health Sciences Center on the Temple College east campus.
Services are provided on a “first-come, first-served” basis.
Children ages 7 to 14 are eligible to have sealants placed in teeth.
The sealant is an acrylic coating that is brushed on the teeth to prevent decay. There is no charge for the sealants. A parent or guardian must accompany the child. The primary purpose of this project is to provide services for children of families with no dental insurance.
The Temple College dental hygiene faculty, dental hygiene alumni, students, local dentists, and dental assistants will participate in the project.
