Sergeant Irvin Albert Mitchell Jr.

FORT HOOD, Texas – Fort Hood officials have released the name of a
Soldier who died March 16, 2010 in Mandeville, LA. Sergeant Irvin Albert Mitchell Jr., 25, of Picayune, MS., joined the military in January 2005 as an avionic mechanic. He was assigned to Delta Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Aviation Regiment, 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, since November 2005.

Mitchell deployed in Support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from Nov. 2005
through Nov. 2006 and from June 2008 through June 2009.

Mitchell’s decorations and awards include the Army Commendation Medal,
Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense
Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service
Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon and Army Service Ribbon.
