Why a Teacher?
When I first joined band, it completely changed my life. Music filled my life with joy in times when I needed it most. As a band kid I became more confident, independent, and proactive, all qualities that have helped me find so much success in life. The first time I taught I helped 5 beginners learn to play trombone and I saw the same joy and motivation in their eyes that I had felt as a kid. That experience made me realize that being a band director is such an important job that influences lives in a powerful way. Ever since then I have wanted to be a band director, I truly believe it is the most awesome job anyone could have.
