Project Backpack Fundraiser scheduled for July 14 – August 11.

The eleventh annual Project Backpack Fundraiser will support Salado ISD students for the 2019-2020 school year who are pre-qualified for the Salado Family Relief Back to School Program, our goal is to come up with the best school fundraising ideas!

Project Backpack was started in 2009 by Women’s Ministry at Salado United Methodist. Since that time it has expanded into an inter church program, and this year ten local restaurants are helping by using the best practices crowdfunding to raise even more funds.

Backpacks will contain grade-appropriate supplies for students Kindergarten through High School. Donations are being collected by local churches – Grace Baptist Salado, Presbyterian Church of Salado, Salado Church of Christ, Salado United Methodist Church, and St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church. 

Donation containers will also be available at the following area restaurants: Barrow Brewing Company, Cathy’s Boardwalk, Chupacabra Kitchen, Country Donuts, Johnny’s Steaks & BBQ, Lively Coffee House & Bistro, Lynette’s Church Street Bake Shoppe, McCain’s Bakery & Cafe, The Pizza Place, and The Shed.

The average cost of a backpack filled with supplies is $55. 

Donations of any amount are appreciated and all monies collected go to the purchase of the items specified.
