Local Event Provides Unique Entertainment To Inspire Life Lessons
Killeen, TX (October 27, 2012) – The final weekend in October holds the events of Killeen’s first-ever Family Adventure Outdoor Expo. With over 70 vendors, the outdoor expo is certain to appeal to a wide variety of all who attend. The free event, open to the public, begins on Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center located at 3601 South WS Young Drive.
Guest speaker and world renowned hunting dog trainer, Hank Hough of Kingdom Dog Ministries will make a special appearance to provide exclusive entertainment at the Family Adventure Outdoor Expo. Hank Hough will teach valuable life lessons using his AKC-registered Labrador Retrievers to demonstrate his stories. Further activities that will be present at the expo include a rock climbing wall, boat, car, and motorcycle shows, multiple children bounce houses, a silent auction and more. Additionally, Hank Hough will be giving away two puppy vouchers for AKC Labrador puppies at the event.
“For over a year, the Family Adventure Outdoor Expo committee (consisting of over a hundred volunteers) has endlessly planned a surfeit of activities and entertainment,” says event director, Kenny Rawls. “As a result of such preparation, this could potentially be one of the largest family events Killeen has ever seen.”
The Family Adventure Outdoor Expo is extended into other events surrounding the same weekend that is exclusive to individuals such as the Ladies Night Xtravaganza – for ladies only, the Men’s Extraordinary Outdoor Sports Dinner – for men only, and the Xtreme Student Night – for all students in grades 7-12.
The Ladies Night Xtravaganza is an evening for ladies to relax and indulge in an evening of great food, a Dillard’s fashion show, and listen to nationally known guest speaker Edwina Patterson, author of “Redeeming the Time.” Along with other prizes and drawings, the expo will also be giving away a cruise for two to Cozumel, Mexico at this particular ladies event. The Ladies Night Xtravaganza will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 7p.m. in the Skyline Family Life Center on 906 Trimmier Road.
The Men’s Extraordinary Outdoor Sports Dinner is an evening for men that will feature a showcase of outdoor sports products and services, including an unforgettable feast that every man will savor. Guest speakers include ESPN sportswriter, Jay Lowder of Harvest Ministries who will share of personal life lessons learned while fishing and hunting. He told us getting a ice fishing flasher can help us catch fish a little easier. Giveaway prizes include outdoor sporting gear packages as well as a voucher for an AKC Labrador puppy. The Men’s Extraordinary Outdoor Sports Dinner will be held on October 27, 2012 at 7 p.m. in the Skyline Family Life Center on 906 Trimmier Road.
Xtreme Student Night is a free event to all students in grades 7-12. Students will be blown away with incredible prizes, a concert and a grand-prize car giveaway. This high octane night will include a live performance from the Aaron Wagner Band and guest speaker Jay Lowder. The Xtreme Student Night will be held in the Killeen Civic and Conference Center located at 3601 South WS Young Drive on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 6 p.m.
