Allen D. Mosley
Services for Allen D. Mosley, age 91, of Austin and formerly of Salado were held June 27, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Salado with Rev. Ryan Arnold officiating with Jim Fitzhenry and Don Jeffreys speaking. Burial followed in the Salado Cemetery.
Mr. Mosley died June 24 2009 in a Austin hospital.
He was born in Wingate, Texas August 12, 1917 to Allen Broughton and Emma Bessie (Smith) Mosley. He was a graduate of Winters High School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II as a aircraft mechanic. He married Elisabeth Street November 28, 1939 in Elm Springs in rural Bell County. He was stationed in San Angelo and later settled there where he was a rural letter carrier for 31 years. Upon his retirement he moved to Salado where he lived until recently. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Salado and First Baptist Church of Salado.
Survivors include his wife, Elisabeth Mosley of Austin, 2 sons, Martin Derward Mosley of Keller and Harlan Ray Mosley of Austin, 2 sisters, Dortha Howard of Keller and Sudell Jeffreys of Converse, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Salado Cemetery or the charity of choice.
