Antonio Guajardo
Services for Antonio Guajardo, 80, of Belton were held March 26, 2011 at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Salado with Reverend Greg McLaughlin officiating. A visitation preceded the service.
Antonio Guajardo died March 21, 2011 at a local hospital. He was born January 17, 1931 in Bartlett, TX to Eusebio and Inez Capetillo Guajardo.
He attended Bartlett schools prior to entering the service in 1950.
Antonio was a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was discharged in 1953.
He married Maria Augustina Rodrigues and they settled in Salado for the next 25 years before she died. He has lived in Salado for over 50 years.
Guajardo was a welder all of his life at Mohawk Equipment Company, a division of Materials Transport Corp. where he made shredders.
He was an active member of the VFW Post 1820 in Temple and American Legion Post 0133 in Temple for 19 years.
Antonio was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church, Salado.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, wife, five brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by one son, Manuel of Rochester, MN. He has six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
