Services for Ruth Suzanne Buck Burton, 79, of Salado were held June 27 at the First Baptist Church Main St., Salado with Drs. Travis Burleson and Scott Mescher officiating.
Burial followed in the Salado Cemetery.
Debbie Charbonneau, the Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau Executive Director for the Village of Salado, announced her retirement plans effective July 7.

Local resident Kathy Ellis Wilhite captured a photograph of a baby kangaroo this morning on FM 2484. She took the picture about 8 a.m. Monday morning. The kangaroo reportedly has been missing since yesterday morning, but was found about 11 a.m.

Services for Sidney A. Barham will be Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the 3C Cowboy Fellowship Church 16258 Gooseneck Road, Salado, TX with Ralph Barham officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 – 11:00 at the church.
Following the service, interment will be 4:00 PM at Greenwood Cemetery 1665 N. Llano Street Fredericksburg, TX with military honors.
Funeral services for Jerry Adams, 72, of Salado, will be held 11 a.m. on June 22, 2015, at the Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Rev. Billy Barho and Rev. Bob Van Dyke officiating.
Burial will follow at the Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for visitation 4-6 p.m. June 21 at the Dossman Funeral Home.
For several years after the town was laid out, the citizens of Salado crossed the shallow creek by stepping from rock to rock, or on logs laid across the wider places.
Sirena is missing her catfish.
Sometime last week, someone cut the 14″ by 42″ long bronze Magical Catfish from the stone base of Sirena in order to steal it.
