FORT HOOD, Texas – Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who died June 26 2011 of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident in Wasit province, Iraq.
Specialist Matthew Ryan Gallagher, 22, whose home of record is listed as North Falmouth, Mass., entered active-duty service in October 2008 as a cavalry scout. He was assigned to 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, since June 2010.
Gallagher was deployed in support of Operation New Dawn, and had previously deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from April 2009 to November 2009.
Gallagher’s awards and decorations include an Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with combat service star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and a Combat Action Badge.
Graveside services for Gayle Blaylock Herrin, 69, of the Woodlands will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Salado Cemetery with Rev. Jay Thomas officiating.

FORT HOOD, Texas – The Department of Defense announced the death of a Soldier who was supporting Operation New Dawn June 15 2011.
Services for James Gaylon Arnold Sr., age 55 of Salado were held June 13 2011 at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton. Reverend John Warden officiated. Burial followed in the Salado Cemetery.

Private 1st Class Matthew Joseph England, 22, whose home of record is listed as Gainesville, Mo., entered active-duty service in September 2009 as an armor crewman. He was assigned to 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, since January 2010.
England deployed in support of Operation New Dawn in August 2010.
England’s awards and decorations include an Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Action Badge and Driver and Mechanic Badge.
