The women of the Central Texas Baylor Club will host the Baylor Scholarship Brunch 9:30 a.m.-noon Feb. 20 at Wildflower Country Club in Temple. There will be a Silent Auction and the Style Show will be by Christy’s of Salado.

Each year, the club honors a Distinguished Baylor Woman from this area. This year’s selection is Dr. Tracy Teaff, Chief Liaison and External Affairs Officer for Texas A&M University Central Texas. Dr. Teaff grew up as the middle daughter of Coach Grant and Donell Teaff, beloved Baylor coach and wife.
She graduated from Baylor in 1982 with a BS in education, always desiring to be a special education teacher. Earning a Ph.D. in Leadership in Behavior Disorders from the University of North Texas she then served UNT-Dallas. She became Interim Deputy Vice Provost there until she was called to Killeen in the summer of 2008 to serve as Academic Dean on the campus of Tarleton State University, which became Texas A&M-Central Texas. In 2011 Teaff became part of the President’s Office, serving as Chief Liaison and External Affairs Officer for the University. She was also recently instrumental in the establishment of Club Rugby and serves proudly as administrator over the Warrior Rugby program.
She has worked hard to connect the university with community and the region, representing TAMUCT on the Killeen, Harker Heights, and Belton Chambers, serving as Thought Leader for the Military Child Education Coalition, being a member of the Belton ISD Long Range Facilities Planning, serving as member of TISD/Temple College/TAMUCT PAC, a being a member of the Association of US Army. Dr. Teaff lives on Lake Belton and in any spare time enjoys time with her family. Though she has many activities and responsibilities, her heart is always partly at Baylor University, where her family invested twenty years of their lives.
The guest speaker will be Ann Harder, native of Waco, and 1975 cum laude graduate of Baylor. Her career spans 35 years in radio and television working in Waco, Lubbock and Houston. She came to KXXV in 1996 and continues as a well-recognized news anchor. Her singing talent gives her opportunities to perform at churches and civic clubs. Among her honors, she was given the Junior League of Waco Eva Award for excellence in volunteering, was named Distinguished Alumni of Waco Independent School District and in 2005 was honored as National Media Person of the Year for the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
Presidents of the Central Texas Baylor Club are Billy and Carol Mills of Belton. Co-chairmen of the brunch are Paula Lohse of Killeen and Joycelyn Miller of Salado.
Since 1994, the women of the Central Texas Baylor Club have hosted the Baylor Scholarship Brunch, raising funds for the Central Texas Endowed Scholarship. Each year, the students from this area may apply for this scholarship to Baylor University.
