Comfort shuts out Salado 20-0 in week 2
Jason Faulkner had 201 yards rushing and scored all three touchdowns in the rain-soddened Salado Eagles’ 20-0 road loss to the Comfort Bobcats on Sept. 2.
The Bobcats scored in the first quarter after recovering a turnover at midfield. It took eight plays and Faulkner scored on a two-yard run.
Faulkner scored again in the second quarter. Comfort took advantage of another Salado fumble to take over the ball with a first and goal at the Eagle two yard line. Faulkner scored on a seven yard run, following a penalty. The PAT made the score 14-0 at the half.
The final score in the game came in the fourth quarter, this time on a three yard run by Faulkner.
The Eagle offense struggled with the wet football, fumbling the ball five times, losing three of them. Salado had just eight first downs in the game while Comfort had 19 first downs.
Salado will host the Hyde Park Baptist High School Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9 in the Eagles’ first home game of the season.
