The Salado United Methodist Church will host a Broadway Night 7 p.m. April 4 in the historic chapel located on the church grounds (650 Royal St.).
There will be music from the “Golden Age” of Broadway all the way up to current shows running on Broadway today.
Among the musical selections will be songs from Oklahoma! and Les Miserables as well as songs from Into the Woods and The Newsies.
“The program is very eclectic in variety of styles and eras of Broadway shows and will be fun for all,” said Sean Hale, Director of Music and Fine Arts for the church.
Hale, a baritone, and Elaine Garcia, the pianist for SUMC, will be featured in the evening performance. Also performing, will be four college music majors that sing in the Salado UMC Chancel Choir: Cardarious Bonner, baritone, Kevin Bryant, tenor, Abigail Jackson, soprano and Emily McGee, mezzosoprano.
Admission is free, but donations will benefit the Salado UMC Music Department.
