Carolyn Sue Cox

Belton- Funeral services for Carolyn Sue Cox, 69, of Belton were held March 27, 2010 at the Heartfield Funeral Home Chapel in Belton. Rev. Jay Thomas officiated. Burial followed at Live Oak Cemetery in Youngsport.

Carolyn passed away Wednesday, March 24 at her home in Belton.   
    Carolyn was born March 23, 1941 in Salado to Robert Lee Sr. and Helen (Schaffer) Cowen. She married George Cox on September 28, 1955 in Bell County. George preceded her in death on December 23, 1992. Carolyn had attended the Baptist Church and was a lifetime member of the VFW Lodge 4008 in Belton for 35 years.
    Survivors includ eher best friend, Hershel Fowler of Belton; two sons, George Cox, Jr. of New Orleans and Fred Cox of Midlothian; one daughter, Patricia Avella of Jacksonville, Florida; two brothers, J.I. Cowen of Moody and Joe Cowen of Burton; one sister, Doris Cox of Belton; six grandchildren; and vie great-grandchildren.
    Visitation was held at the chapel of Heartfield Funeral Home.
    Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton was in charge of arrangements.
