Clifton Parker Carter III passed away on Thursday, July 4 2019 at his home in Salado.
A Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. July 13, 2019 in the historic chapel of the Salado United Methodist Church, where he was a member. The service will be officiated by Reverend David Mosser.
Clifton (Skip) was born in Galveston, Texas, on December 12, 1947. He was the son of Clifton Parker Carter, Jr. and Irma Tidwell Carter. He attended Pasadena High School and graduated in 1966. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1970, with a B.S. degree in Wildlife Science. He enrolled in Graduate School at Texas A&M in Forestry, but was unable to finish due to the death of his father.
He married Nancy Shepperd Brotherton on December 21, 2003. Skip and Nancy met on a blind date in 1966.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy. He is also survived by two daughters, Stacy Vickers and spouse Burt; Carrie Carter and Jim Dekan; two stepsons, Chris Brotherton; Patrick Brotherton and spouse Brandy; a stepdaughter Amy Weister and spouse Michael; three grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren and one step-great grandson.
Skip was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Harvey Williamson and Lehman Williamson of Louisiana.
All arrangements will be handled by Broecker Funeral Home in Salado. Burial will be in the Salado Cemetery at a later date.
