Kayla Manning is heading to Harvard this fall after graduating at the top of her class at Salado High School.
The daughter of Will and Kris Manning, Kayla will graduate Salado High School with a final GPA of 113.667.
Kaden Smien, the son of Reem and Eddie Smien of Salado, is the Salutatorian for the Salado High School graduating class of 2018 with an overall GPA of 110.807.
He has attended Salado schools since the seventh grade.
Brad Buckley will face Democrat Kathy Richerson in November for the Texas House District 54 after defeating incumbent Republican Scott Cosper in a primary party runoff May 22.

Bell County Commissioner Tim Brown reported that since Jan. 26 his campaign has raised an additional $8,550 in political contribution and spent $31,714.42 in political expenditures, according to campaign finance report dated May 12.

State Rep. Scott Cosper has raised $236,819.05, according to the May 14 campaign finance reports filed with the Texas Ethics Commission while his challenger Dr. Brad Buckley has raised $54,115.00 in political donations.

The annual Salado Reunion is held on the second Saturday of June, which falls on June 9 this year.
The reunion will be held at the Salado Intermediate School at 550 Thomas Arnold Road.

After weeks of work, the Salado Community Garden on the grounds of the Salado Civic Center (601 N. Main Street) is now accepting members who can utilize one of the 42 garden plots 4’ x 8’ in size.
