Salado aldermen at their March 15 meeting repealed the 2018 Parking Ordinance that regulated the parking of vehicles in residential front yards and on public streets.

For years, there was only Sylvia’s, set up daily in front of Salado Wine Seller to sell breakfast and lunch tacos, gone before 5 p.m.
But now, not a week passes that food trucks can’t be spotted in various locations throughout town. For the past two years, Barrow Brewing Co. has been a focal point for food trucks to set up on the property on Royal Street to offer a variety of options from Mexican fusion to soul food to Korean to German to stuffed baked potatoes.

That is one of the questions that the Pace Park Advisory Board will ask during a public input meeting 1-3 p.m. March 27 at the Village Municipal Building, 301 N. Stagecoach Rd.
Salado will receive $30,974.81 in sales tax revenues for March, up almost 4 percent from the previous year’s payment of $29,838.04.
Scott Cosper and Brad Buckley will face each other in the Republican Primary run-off on May 25 for the Texas House District 54 while Tim Brown and Bobby Whitson will be on the run-off ballot for Bell County Commissioner Precinct 2.
Three candidates have filed in the Republican Primary for Bell County Commissioner, precinct two: Tim Brown, incumbent, Brit Owen and Bobby Whitson.

Through Feb. 26, 8,345 Bell County voters have cast ballots in the Republican Party Primary and 1,843 have cast ballots in the Democratic Party Primary. This is just over five percent of the total registered voters in the county.
