These fingerstyle guitarists leave the pick at home.
They prefer to play by plucking the strings with the off hand, rather than with a pick and are called fingerstyle guitarists.
They cover all genres of music and many will be coming to Salado this weekend for the Texas Fingerstyle Guitar Association (TFGA) quarterly gathering.

Salado freshman Emily McBreen has been nominated by the South Central Austin Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) as a candidate in their Students of the Year fundraising challenge.

He’s not much to look at it, but then again at 50 years old who among us is?
He’s got dents — a huge one in the front — and bumps and the paint is missing in quite a few spots.
But for collector Clayton Capps, this latest acquisition is a beauty.
Capps purchased Herbie #10 from the original Disney movie “The Love Bug” on Thanksgiving day. He had it shipped from Hershey, PA to its new home on Capps’ Bug Acres on FM 2484.
The Salado Village Voice newspaper has seen more than three decades of service to the Village of Salado.
During that time, the newspaper has always been a family affair, since its founding by Dayton Kelly in 1979. After Dayton’s death, his sons Dennis and Bill operated the newspaper until the Fleischer family purchased the newspaper in 1988.
