City of Temple to host Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event
TEMPLE, TX – October 3, 2016 – The City of Temple, in cooperation with Waste Management-Temple Landfill, Temple Iron & Metal, Temple College, Goodwill and the Central Texas Council of Governments, will be hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Collection event on Saturday, October 8th from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The collection will be held at the Temple Service Center located at 3210 East Avenue H and residents living in Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas, Milam, Mills and San Saba counties are invited to participate there will be multiple perth skip bins.

Dawn Buckingham to speak in Salado
Candidate for State Senate, District 24, to meet locals before Nov. vote
Dr. Dawn Buckingham, an ophthalmologist from the Austin area, is speaking to the Salado Area Republican Women Thursday, October 27, at the Civic Center. Buckingham won the Republican Primary for State Senate, District 24, a race which originally had seven candidates. Her win came with the runoff election. The luncheon meeting will start at 11:30 a.m.but the candidate will be available to visit with before the meeting.
First Community Title Oktoberfest
First Community Title invited customers to an Oktoberfest party at Barrow Brewing Company on Royal Street on Oct. 1. The Oktoberfest included food, door prizes, commemorative mugs, a Firkin tapping and live music by the Friz Hodde Band.
