Community Chorus concert April 28
Salado Community Chorus will perform songs about “Work and Play in the USA” at their April 28 concert 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Salado.
Salado Masonic Lodge #296 will offer five $1,000 scholarships to graduating Salado High seniors this spring.
Applications are available through the Salado High School Counselor’s office. Completed applications must be turned back in to the Counselor’s office by the end of school on May 20. This scholarships will be announced at the Senior Awards Night on May 31.

Five Salado FFA teams have advanced to State competition after competing at district and area contests recently.
Salado FC U11 Boys soccer team qualified for the South Texas Cup State Finals in San Antonio April 30- May 1 after competing in the Western District Round in San Marcos April 16-17. The boys were set to play Leander to decide first and second place in the finals of the Western District but inclement weather postponed the match. The two teams will face each at the Finals in San Antonio to determine placement.
On the first day of the Western District tournament, Salado won its first game against Liberty Hill 8-0. The boys tied Bastrop in the second game by a score of 2-2 and tied Leander 3-3 to qualify for the semi-final game.
The boys won a shootout in a rematch against Bastrop to qualify for the finals. John Colvin, Cody Coker, and Morgan Adams each scored during the shootout that decided game 4. Every player either scored or gave an assist during the tourney.
Salado One-Act Play returns to regional competition in Corpus Christi on April 20 after placing second in the Area round of competition behind rival Lampasas.
