Four candidates have filed for Mayor of Salado. They appear on the ballot in the following manner: Danney McCort, Hans Fields, Skip Blancett and Rick Ashe. Following are their responses to questions that have been posed by the Salado Village Voice Newspaper.
If JES Development Company Inc. is awarded the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs 2014 Competitive Housing Tax Credit for a proposed 50-unit senior affordable living project in the Village of Salado Extra-Territorial Jurisdiction, the company will receive $580,000 in tax credits per year for the next 10 years.
The Salado Film Squad won the inaugural state competition of the UIL Focus – Young Filmmakers Festival. Their documentary, “The Heroes at Home: The Untold Story,” was shown on April 16 at the Paramount Theater in Austin. Final awards were announced that evening at the premiere and The Heroes At Home: The Untold Story was the overall winner.
