Taste of Salado, a fundraising event, for the Public Arts League of Salado will be an art-filled evening with Tapas-styled offerings from local restaurants, bed and breakfasts and food artisans.

A Salado man died in a house fire overnight at Irene Lane that burned down a two-story house with multiple additions to it and a camper trailer. Another camper trailer ignited but was not lost in the fire.
Get your traveling shoes on, Salado will be doing a lot of that over the next two years.
The Eagles will compete in 4A-District 11 in football for the 2014-2016 school years.
University Interscholastic League released its realignments this morning and Salado is grouped in 4A, Division 2 with Caldwell, Giddings, La Grange and Smithville, all to the southeast of Salado.

All northbound mainlanes to be closed overnight
BELTON – I-35 will be closed in the northbound direction through Belton on Thursday, January 30, from 7 PM – 7 AM in order to allow crews to shift traffic and move concrete traffic barrier. In addition to the mainlane closure, the Loop 121 and FM 436 crossings will be closed to expedite traffic flow on the access roads.
The I-35 mainlane closure for Salado has been postponed from tonight (Jan. 27-28) to tomorrow night (Jan. 28-29), due to the chance of ice in the forecast.
I-35 will be closed in both directions through Salado beginning at 7 p.m. Jan. 28 and ending 7 a.m. Jan. 29 in order to allow crews to demolish the Thomas Arnold bridge.

It’s a long road back for Kevin Reichert, who has been in the Intensive Care Unit of Parkland Burn Unit in Dallas for the past two weeks, undergoing multiple surgeries to address problems with skin grafts and previous surgeries in which scar tissue has not healed properly.
