Local voters return two lawmakers to office
Bell County Sheriff Eddy Lange staved off two opponents in the Republican Primary, earning 55.14 percent of the votes while Constable Rolly Correa defeated former Constable Roger Laird in the Precinct 2 race on March 1.
Neither Lange nor Correa will have a Democrat opponent in November.
The Salado High School Girls Golf team competed in the Shoemaker Tournament held at The Courses at Clear Creek on Fort Hood.
Dr. Edna Bridges will present a program on the Tennessee Valley area of Bell County at the Bell County Genealogical Society meeting Feb. 16, at the Temple Public Library.

The Salado Area Republican Women are busy planning their 10th Annual Fine China Luncheon and Fundraiser scheduled for Thursday, March 24, at The Venue in Salado. The event starts at 11:30 a.m. and it promises to be a full house. There will be 24 fancy tables with some decorated by local businesses. Classic Catering of Temple will furnish the meal.
