Many of the same arguments launched against the $10.55 million bond election for the construction of a sewer system for Salado are again being launched via letters to the editor, website postings and social media postings concerning the upcoming Disannexation election.
The Salado Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center will move south to the Salado Museum after appropriate renovations are made for staff offices.
The renovations are estimated at about $10,000. The Chamber Board of Directors awarded the bid to SVC Remodeling Construction at their March 16 meeting.
If approved by the voters in the Village of Salado May 6, the disannexation of a large — almost entirely residential — portion of the Village could result in the loss of just over $170 million in market value.
