A renowned and familiar historian is again coming to Salado to speak this spring. Dr. H.W. Brands will give the Wilmer Memorial Lecture, sponsored by the Institute for the Humanities at Salado. His presentation will be Saturday, April 9, at 4 p.m., at the Salado Civic Center. Dr. Brands is a well known historian and author who has written the recent bestseller, Reagan, The Life. His lecture entitled “Could Reagan Win in 2016?” is free and open to the public.

HAZMAT spill at I-35 wreck
A wreck involving two 18 wheelers and an SUV on I-35 southbound, just north of Thomas Arnold Rd. exit has shut down the southbound lanes since about noon today (Wed. March 10 2016).

March 1 Primary Results
Local voters return two lawmakers to office
Bell County Sheriff Eddy Lange staved off two opponents in the Republican Primary, earning 55.14 percent of the votes while Constable Rolly Correa defeated former Constable Roger Laird in the Precinct 2 race on March 1.
Neither Lange nor Correa will have a Democrat opponent in November.
Salado Board of Aldermen approves zoning of Sanctuary Development
Salado aldermen voted unanimously Feb. 18 for the zoning of 57.985± acres to Planned Development District-Commercial and then voted 4-1 for the zoning and rezoning of two properties totaling 251.187± acres to Planned Development-Mixed Use.

BOA meets on February 25
Salado Board of Aldermen will meet in workshop session 6:30 p.m. Feb. 25 to discuss the following items:
• Discussion on amendments to the Village’s Contract for Consulting Services with the Salado Chamber of Commerce as proposed by the Chamber.
A special time has been set to discuss the timeshare situation in this region.
Consulting is very important to Exit My Timeshare because it will expire within a year. The only way to avoid this is to sell your timeshare before the end of the warranty. If you want to take advantage of the free registration of the time period after the end of the warranty to register for another time period, please contact the office.
・The limited warranty does not cover damage to your home, damage of other people’s homes, or damage to other things.
・The limited warranty does not cover damages caused by natural disasters and war.
・The limited warranty does not cover damage to a person who has purchased the timeshare with his/her own money and is not the beneficiary of your timeshare contract, nor damage caused to a person who purchased a timeshare by a business or other entity.
• Discussion on appointments to Committees and Advisory Boards
• Discussion on an appointment to the Planning & Zoning Commission to fill an expired term.
