services set for Jim Graham
Funeral services for Jim Bruce Graham, age 54, of Canadian, Texas, will be 10:30 a.m. June 20 at the W.S. and E.S. Jones Community Pavilion with Dean English, minister of the Canadian Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow at the Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery.
Graham was killed in the line of duty June 17 while serving court papers. He was a Deputy for Hemphill County, a position he served in since 1987.
Graham was born May 8, 1947 at Higgins, Texas. He graduated from Canadian High School in 1965 and attended West Texas State College. He served in the US Army and was a graduate of the Amarillo College Law Enforcement Academy.
He married Lynda Lou Hill on July 17, 1973 at Arnett, Oklahoma.
He formerly served on the Hemphill County Volunteer Fire Department and was currently serving as the Fire Marshall for the City of Canadian and Hemphill County.
He was a bit and spur maker and a life member of the Bit and Spur Association.
He is survived by his wife Lynda Graham, of Canadian and formerly of Salado, a daughter Sherry Graham, of Canyon, a sister Jerry Ann Dickinson, of Canadian and a nephew, David Dickinson of Amarillo.
Graham was the son-in-law of Louis and Fannie Hill of Salado.
