Linda Gail Barker
A memorial service for Linda Gail Barker, 61, of Jarrell was held at March 28 2009 at Church on the Rock located at 925 Golden Oak Dr. Georgetown.
Rev. Kathryne Snodgrass and Pastor Dennis Hattabaugh officiated. A private burial at the Berry Creek Cemetery preceded the service.
Surrounded by her family, Barker passed away on March 24, 2009. She was born Dec. 29, 1947 in Georgetown to Walter Joe and Pauline Whitfield Barker. She graduated from Georgetown High School in 1966. Barker was a lifetime resident of Georgetown; employed by Southwestern University before moving into the medical insurance field working at Georgetown Hospital and clinics in Austin. She attended and was a member at Church on the Rock.
Barker is survived by her parents Joe and Polly Barker, four sisters; Sue VanNoy and husband Anthony of Jarrell, Kathryne Snodgrass and husband David of Virginia, Mary Jo Dubey and husband Larry of New Hampshire, Beth Montgomery and husband Don of Bryan, 16 nieces and nephews, eight great nieces and nephews, Rolando Mendez, and extended family in El Salvador.
Flowers or a memorial gift supporting missions in El Salvador may be sent to The Church on the Rock of Georgetown. Arrangements were handled by Broecker Funeral home of Salado.

Lt. Col. Emmitt Weems Rogers, 47, of Texas, was admitted to Darnall Army Medical Center Intensive Care Unit on April 21 and on April 26 2009 he passed away.

Private First Class Jarvis Galloway, 20, of Saint Charles, Missouri, was shot by a Killeen Police Officer while attempting to flee the scene of an incident.

James Cecil Havens, 89, of Salado passed away March 27, 2009 in a local hospital. Funeral services were held March 30 at Heartfield Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. James Haney officiated. Internment followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Military Honors.
