Drillers have been practicing and memorizing since early September 2015. They must memorize 25 bible verses, 10 key passages and all 66 Books of the Bible. During drill competition, they have 10 seconds to locate a Key Passage, Book of the Bible or to recall and recite 1 of the 25 verses. There are 3 levels of competition: church, Association and State. 14 of the drillers advanced to State level competition which was held in Houston on April 9.

Since we are given lemons maybe Salado should make lemonade. The Chamber of Commerce could advertise free demolition derby events with occasional pyrotechnics. Maybe that would attract a few tourists.

William and Claire Hartman of Salado and David Wolff and Jim Carlile of Temple announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter Madison Brooks Wolff to Jon Hack.
Minister and Uncle of the bride Sam Lanham IV will perform the ceremony 4 p.m. April 16 at the historic Salado United Methodist Church. Reception to follow at the Venue.
Jon Hack is the son of Norm and Pat Hack of Pflugerville. Madison Brooks Wolff is a 2010 graduate of Salado High School.
The wedding party will be wearing converse shoes.

Claire Hartman, at the BOA meeting 3/3/16, said it’s easy to stand up before the board and criticize.
It’s time for drastic and unprecedented action concerning I-35 construction in Bell County.
In the past week, Salado first responders were called out about a dozen times to accidents in the congested construction areas of I-35. Meanwhile Temple first responders were called out to accident that closed the highway for hours in the northern part of Bell County.
